Are there any endocrinologists [in Guelph] familiar and/or experienced with transgender issues who can prescribe hormones?

I am a transgender man new to the Guelph region. Are there any endocrinologists familiar and/or experienced with transgender issues who can prescribe hormones?

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

UPDATE: Please see the more recent post, “I Might Be FTM“, for more up-to-date information on this topic.

At this time, unfortunately, we do not have knowledge of any specific doctors in Guelph that have a familiarity with Trans health issues that are currently accepting patients. This is a referral area we are currently trying to address through some outreach. We will post an update as soon as any appropriate referral can be provided.

An option (if you are comfortable) would be to find a local doctor you connect with and suggest the materials provided by Sherbourne Health Centre around Trans health (see earlier post “I identify as transgender and would like to begin hormone replacement therapy. Can any endocrinologist do this?” for info). You can find local doctors that are taking patients on the Family Medical Clinics page offered through the City of Guelph.

  1. hey! i was just on this site because i get calls from trans people every day across Ontario looking for primary care and other supports, and just got two calls from folks both in Guelph. I always want to refer them your way for information, connection, support, etc so thank you for the amazing work you do! I just noticed the post and wanted to offer an amendment… Dr. Lori Hasulo at the Guelph CHC does have experience in working with trans clients and has taken clinical trainings on trans primary care, is notably trans+, etc. i dont know if her practice is open, but i would recommend her as a local option.

  2. Hi Jordan,

    Thanks for your comment and your support!

    Hopefully some of our readers will be able to benefit from the knowledge you’ve just shared :]
