OUTline Is Back for the Semester!

Hi folks,

My name is Jessica and I’m the new OUTline Facilitator for the upcoming school year!

There’s been some changes going on at OUTline and I’m excited to give you some updates.  To start us off, our hours of operation have changed!  We’re now available during the following times:
Monday 3:30-9pm
Wednesday 6-9pm
During those hours, you can call (519) 836-4550 to speak with a trained OUTline volunteer.  I’m also very happy to announce that OUTline ONline, our real-time web chat service will be available during those hours as well!  To have a one-on-one web chat with an OUTline volunteer, go to our Student Life page.  Our volunteers would love to hear from you, whether you’re looking for support, resources, or just someone to talk to.

As you might have guessed, Ask OUTline is also up and running for the school year!  Feel free to submit your questions and the volunteers and I will respond to them as quickly as possible.  This is my first time running a blog, so I’m both excited and a little nervous!

There’s one more change to our services – OUTline will now be overseeing CampOUT.  For those of you who don’t know, CampOUT is a support/social group that provides a safe space for gender and sexually diverse individuals or those who are questioning their sexual orientation/gender identity.  Students who attend are encouraged to participate as much or as little as they like.  CampOUT strives to maintain as confidential an environment as possible in order to respect attendees who are in the earliest stages of coming out.  Students who attend are encouraged to participate as much or as little as they like.  If you’re interested in attending CampOUT, send an email to outline@uoguelph.ca and you’ll be included on the mailing list.

Last but not least, I’m not sure if she’s reading this but either way I wanted to give a shout out to LIZ for helping me out so much over the past couple of weeks.  You’re a superstar!

I’m looking forward to an exciting year with OUTline!

Jessica
