New Year, New OUTline!

OUTline New Logo

With a new school year comes a new look for OUTline! What do you think of the logo? To me, the rainbow pulse represents how OUTline can act as your LGBTQ2IA+ ‘lifeline’. You might have noticed that our phone number is no longer included in this logo, and that’s because we have shifted our focus to OUTline ONline – our real-time chat service. To that end, we have extended our service hours; we will now be online every day of the week from 5 to 10 pm. This is possible because of our fabulous volunteers, who will be undergoing training September 19 & 20. With that in mind, OUTline ONline will be resuming September 21.

Until then, you can check out OUTline at events around the University of Guelph campus. One of our other new focuses this year will be on promoting safe social spaces for LGBTQ2IA+ students. We know that one of the challenges of being gender and sexually diverse (GSD) is meeting other GSD peers, so we hope to help foster those opportunities. One of such opportunities is happening this evening, from 7-9 pm, with Guelph Campus Ministry’s event “Matters of Faith: Sexual Identity in the Church”. We’ll be there to support the event and chat with peers. It’s taking place in the Library, room 370, so we hope to see you there! It’s open to everyone, regardless of faith (or lack thereof) or identity (allies are welcome). Check it out on Facebook. Come ready to listen and learn 🙂

P.S. Amongst all the changes, I will note that Ask OUTline and CampOUT are still operating as normal. Check out the resources section, submit a question, or email campout@uoguelph.ca to access these resources.
