 Guelph Queer Equality


Guelph Queer Equality provides a safer space and supportive environment for all people in the trans, bisexual, lesbian, and gay community. People of all races, religions, sexual orientations, genders, ages, and abilities are welcome. Guelph Queer Equality events are not restricted to the University of Guelph community. They are open to people from the Guelph community in general.

Chat with a group of folks who prefer a less-visible space to talk about LGBTQ+ topics. Free snacks. Good conversation. Confidential time and location to ease your mind. This is a great place for you to be yourself without fear of judgment!

CampOUT is a student-driven social group that provides a safe space for students who identify as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Transsexual, Queer, Not-Straight; those who choose not to identify with a label; and/or those who are questioning their sexual orientation and/or gender identity. The group meets every other week and we encourage those who attend to participate as little or as much as they like.

The Wellness Education Centre

The Wellness Education Centre is the educational arm of Student Health Services and is one of over twenty Peer Helper Program units on the University of Guelph campus. We are a student-driven safe space where undergraduate and graduate Guelph students can seek information and support about health and well-being. Peer-to-peer education is the driving force behind all of The Wellness Education Centre’s initiatives, including drop-in peer consultations, interactive programming, and resource distribution. It has many resources on all topics with specific interest to the LGBTIQQ2 community.

NAKED, formerly SpeakOUT, works to communicate a wide array of issues pertaining to sexuality through interactive workshops and events. They raise awareness and initiate education about issues related to oppression, diversity, and human rights. They work to eliminate all forms of oppression on campus, such as homophobia, transphobia, and heterosexism. In their programs, they encourage open and accurate discussions about sexuality as well as regular sexual health check-ups and testing to ensure overall wellbeing. Finally, they improve communication and create positive and enjoyable sexuality for all!

The Guelph Resource Centre for Gender Empowerment and Diversity (GRCGED)


We are a student funded, collectively run resource centre for people of all or no genders. We advocate anti-oppression issues within a feminist framework, recognizing that issues of gendered oppression consist of struggles against all systems of domination. We offer a relaxing, comfortable space where you can use our microwave and/or chat with our friendly volunteers and staff. We provide resources and support for students, staff, faculty and community members, who can use our extensive library, computers and other accessible technologies, buy traditional and alternative menstrual products, attend our workshops and other public events, or become a trained volunteer or collective member. If you are in crisis, you can also access peer support, referrals and a private room.

Student Support Network


A peer-to-peer support network operated by students for students.

Programming & Services

  • Confidential, non-judgmental listening and support
  • Information, pamphlets, and referrals
  • An opportunity to chat one-on-one with peers who care
  • Trained student volunteers who staff the service

Location: Raithby House

Directions: The house across from the cannon in Branion Plaza.

Accessibility: Physically accessible.

Hours: Monday-Friday, 12 pm – 10 pm. Fall & Winter semesters only.
